George Tod Papers 1783-1834 1800-1829

George Tod (1773-1841) was a Trumbull County, Ohio lawyer, tax appraiser and road commissioner who became a state senator (1804-1806, and 1810-1812), Ohio Supreme Court judge (1807-1810) and judge of the Ohio Circuit Court of Appeals, 3rd District (1816-1829). He also served as an officer during the War of 1812. the collection consists of correspondence, military documents, court records, and financial and legal papers of George Tod, a journal of his father David Tod (1783), and documents concerning a case argued by his son David Tod (1834).
